The Tommy Jarvis Trilogy

In honer of last Friday the 13th, I will talk about what I consider to be a mini-series in the Friday the 13th franchise. The Tommy Jarvis Trilogy is called so because it's main character is named Tommy Jarvis one of the only characers to face Jason a multiple of times and live.

(seen here played by Corey Feldman in Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter.)
First, introduced in Part IV: The Final Chapter, he was the loser (I'm referring to the scene when he is about to go to sleep and starts acting like a chimp, when he sees a couple in the house next door doing the deed ), hung out by himself and made monster masks. "Spoiler Alert" he goes ape shit at the end of the movie hacking Jason up.

(seen here played by John Shepherd in Friday the 13th V: A New Beginning.)
Tommy is now in half way house for the mentally ill in Part V, he starts hallucinating that Jason is everywhere, it eventually leads to confrontation with a person who is wearing a hockey mask and taking on the Jason persona that has been killing people. Noteworthy, film leads you to believe Tommy becomes Jason, however the writers of the next film never took hold of it.

(seen her played by Thom Mathews in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives)
Just to put this out there this is my favorite of the series, because it blends comedy, gore and stupid teenagers so well. That being said Tommy is finally released from the institute and on his way to cremate Jason's remains, but in doing so Jason is accidentally revived by a bolt of lightning and killing starts from there. I will say this Tommy has a lot more charisma in this movie compared to Part V where he was mostly silent. Tommy eventually defeats Jason with the help of the Sheriff's daughter Megan.

The best dialogue comes from two kids in a cabin at the new camp on Crystal Lake.
They have just realized there is a killer at the camp and are told to stay under the bed and hide.

Boy A says to Boy B, " We're dead meat" *a scream is heard* "real dead meat"

Boy B says at this time, "What did do want to be when you grew up."

I love this dialogue because it's very nonchalant

This concludes my retrospective on Friday the 13th 4-6 The Tommy Jarvis Trilogy. All I can say is I hope you check it out.
